The application states that the reasons for the
expansion are:
The Town of Kensington has applied to bring two
properties into the Town's boundaries.
The owners of Parcel number 77362 have requested
that the Town of Kensington annex their property inside the Town's
boundary so that they may have access to the amenities available to
Town residents.
Parcel number 606657 is owned by the Town of
Kensington and currently forms part of the Town's well field. The
property was never formally annexed inside the Town's boundary.
PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Section 13 of the
Municipalities Act, the Island
Regulatory and Appeals Commission has been directed by the Minister of
Finance and Municipal Affairs to conduct a public hearing in or near
the area to be annexed for the purpose of reviewing the application.
The public hearing will be held in the Council
Chambers of the Kensington Town Hall, 55 Victoria Street, commencing at
12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010. Residents of the Town,
residents of the area to be annexed and any person affected by the
application are invited to attend and make representation concerning the
application.
