Pursuant to Subsection
12(1) of the
Municipalities Act R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap M-13,
the Community of Miscouche has applied to the Minister of Communities,
Cultural Affairs and Labour to extend the Community's municipal boundary
to include the remaining portions of property numbers 474957 and 789438
and the northern portions of property numbers 376491 and 64428 as outlined below:
The Community's
reasons for the boundary extension application are summarized below:
The owners of
property numbers 474957 and 789438 have requested that the remaining
portions of these properties be brought within the Community
boundaries for a proposed residential subdivision.
The owner of properties 376491 and
64428 has agreed to have the northern portions of these properties
included within the Community boundaries to maintain a more uniform
boundary line for the Community.
PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with
Section 13 of the
Municipalities Act, the Island
Regulatory and Appeals Commission has been directed by the Minister of
Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour to conduct a public hearing in or near the
area to be annexed for the purpose of reviewing the application.
The public hearing will
be held in the Miscouche Fire Hall commencing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday,
November 22, 2007. Residents of the
Community of Miscouche, the area proposed to be annexed and any person affected by the application are invited to attend and
make representation concerning the application.
