Pursuant to Subsection
12(1) of the
Municipalities Act R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap M-13,
the Community of O'Leary has applied to the Minister of Communities,
Cultural Affairs and Labour to extend the Community's municipal boundary
to include property number 1009729 as
outlined below:
The Community's
reasons for the boundary extension application are summarized below:
Property number
1009729 is owned by the Community of O'Leary. The Community seeks to
extend its boundaries to include this property as the Community is
in the process of constructing a ballfield on the property to
facilitate municipal programs and events. The Community will be
supplying sanitary sewer services and lighting to this property.
PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with
Section 13 of the
Municipalities Act,
the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission has been directed by the
Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour to conduct a public
hearing in or near the area to be annexed for the purpose of reviewing
the application.
The public hearing
will be held at the O'Leary Community Complex, located at 18 Community
Street, commencing at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009. Residents
of the Community of O'Leary and any persons affected by the application
are invited to attend and make representation concerning the
application.
