Intake Officer

Location: Charlottetown, P.E.I.

This is an administrative position in the Residential Rental Property Office which provides high level information to both lessors and lessees on residential rental matters and provides administrative support to the Office of the Director.

Reporting to the Director of Residential Rental Property the position involves:

• Advising lessors and lessees on their rights, obligations and available options under the Residential Rental Property Act;

• Advising lessors and lessees of the information and documentation required to comply with the Act;

• Review and process applications;

• Prepare memos, letters and Notices of Hearing;

• Review written Orders;

• Promote understanding and knowledge of the Act through presentations to the public and interested groups;

• Maintain database for the Office; and

• Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have successfully completed Grade 12 and a recognized office studies program. Must be a self-starter and proven team player with good computer skills, strong interpersonal and writing skills and a demonstrated ability to plan and work independently.

The ability to read and interpret legislation and regulations is essential to the position.

Bilingualism would be a definite asset.

Salary Range

Level 13: Currently at $22.07 – $26.28 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
