Including taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 126.5 cpl to 128.6 cpl. The sustained fall in the price of crude over the past month continues to impact refined product pricing. The steadily rising value of the U.S. dollar, the significant reduction in demand that has occurred particularly in North America and Europe and the relatively calm global geo-political scene experienced as of late have all contributed to this pronounced deflation in crude trading values. While, in general, the fall of crude has resulted in lower refined product prices over the past month, recently, gasoline spot market prices have moved in the opposite direction as refiners react to reduced margins, continued high input costs and a shrinking market.
