Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, December 6, 2008 — The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008:

  • Gasoline prices will decrease by 2.5 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will decrease by 5.0 cpl;

  • There will be no changes in propane pricing at this time.

Including taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 73.1 cpl to 75.2 cpl.

Demand related implications of the ongoing global financial crisis, coupled with mild weather as of late, have impacted wholesale petroleum product prices resulting in today's announced pricing adjustments.

The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on December 15, 2008.
