PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, December 15, 2010 — The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010:

  • Gasoline prices will increase by 1.7 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will increase by 1.5 cpl;
  • Diesel prices will increase by 2.5 cpl; and
  • There will be no change in propane prices at this time.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 107.5 cpl to 109.6 cpl.  The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 86.3 cpl.

Significant increases in wholesale market prices since the Commission's last adjustment necessitate the petroleum product price increases announced today.

The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on January 1, 2011.
