PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, March 15, 2015 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015:

  • Furnace and stove oil prices will decrease by 4.0 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Diesel prices will decrease by 4.0 cpl; and
  • There will be no change in gasoline or propane prices at this time.

Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will continue to range from 107.8 cpl to 109.0 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 95.2 cpl plus tax.

Reductions observed in overall distillate wholesale pricing over the past two weeks now allow for the reduction of both furnace oil and diesel product pricing. Substantial recovery of refining capacity in recent days coupled with reduced demand due to improved weather conditions have contributed to this current market dynamic.

The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on April 1, 2015.
