PETROLEUM PRICING
 



Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, May 15, 2015 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015:

  • Gasoline prices will increase by 2.2 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will increase by 1.7 cpl;
  • Diesel prices will increase by 2.4 cpl and
  • There will be no change in propane prices at this time.

Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 113.9 cpl to 115.0 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 85.4 cpl plus tax.

Increases in the wholesale price of all petroleum products observed over the past two week period necessitate the pricing adjustments announced today.

Despite the increases announced today gasoline prices on Prince Edward Island continue to compare favourably with those found throughout Atlantic Canada with pump prices for self-serve regular gasoline in Charlottetown at 113.9 cpl vs 116.4 in Halifax, NS, 113.1 in Moncton, NB, and 115.9 in St. Johns, NL.    

The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on June 1, 2015.
