PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, December 15, 2015 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015:

  • There will be no change in gasoline prices;
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will decrease by 3.1 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Diesel prices will decrease by 3.5 cpl; and
  • There will be no change in propane prices at this time.

Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will continue to range from 95.9 cpl to 97.0 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 72.6 cpl, plus tax.

Although the wholesale market price of both furnace oil and diesel have dropped allowing for the pricing reductions announced today, the wholesale price of gasoline has actually gone up due to increased demand and speculative commodity trading.

The Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on January 1, 2016.
