PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, April 1, 2018 — The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Sunday, April 1, 2018:

• Gasoline prices will increase by 1.7 cents per litre (cpl);

• Furnace and Stove Oil prices will increase by 2.9 cpl;

• There will be no change in the price of diesel; and 

• Propane prices will decrease by 2.4 cpl for Superior Propane, by 1.0 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc. and by 6.0 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 121.3 cpl to 122.5 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will range from 129.5 cpl to 130.6 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 76.9 cpl to 79.5 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 92.2 cpl, plus tax.

Prince Edward Island is not alone in facing higher petroleum product prices. Indeed, Island gasoline pricing compares favourably with many areas of the country. As of March 27^th, average pump prices in Montreal were 138.7 cpl, Ottawa 131.4 cpl, Calgary 122.4 cpl, with the national average at 132.0 cpl.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on April 15, 2018.
