PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, September 1, 2018 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018:

  • Gasoline prices will increase by 2.0 cents per litre (cpl);

  • There will be no change in the price of furnace and stove oil;

  • Diesel prices will increase by 3.0 cpl; and

  • Propane prices will decrease by 1.2 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing and there will be no change in price for Superior Propane and Kenmac Energy Inc.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 128.2 cpl to 129.4 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will range from 135.7 cpl to 136.9 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 78.8 cpl to 80.8 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 94.3 cpl, plus tax.

Escalated wholesale pricing for both gasoline and diesel related to a combination of increased demand and a number of supply interruptions have necessitated the pricing adjustments announced today.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on September 15, 2018.
