Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, October 15, 2018 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2018:

  • There will be no change in the price of gasoline;

  • Furnace oil, stove oil and diesel prices will increase by 2.0 cents per litre (cpl); and

  • Propane prices will decrease by 0.2 cents per litre (cpl) for Superior Propane, will increase by 0.5 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing and there will no change in price for Kenmac Energy Inc.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will continue to range from 126.6 cpl to 127.8 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will now range from 145.9 cpl to 147.1 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 83.3 cpl to 84.0 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 104.6 cpl, plus tax.

The rise in the prices of both furnace oil and diesel is a result of the escalation in the wholesale market prices due to increased seasonal demand for these fuels.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on November 1, 2018.
