PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, December 15, 2018 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018:

  • There will be no change in gasoline, furnace oil, stove oil or diesel prices at this time; and
  • Propane prices will decrease by 3.5 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing, by 2.2 cpl for Superior Propane, and by 1.8 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc.

Pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will continue to range from 104.2 cpl to 105.3 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will continue to range from 126.6 cpl to 127.8 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 76.8 cpl to 78.7 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will continue to be 89.4 cpl, plus tax.

Market reaction to an inventory build in propane stocks allows for the reduction in propane pricing announced today. Nominal fluctuation in the wholesale pricing of the other products did not warrant Commission pricing adjustments at this time.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on January 1, 2019.
