PETROLEUM PRICING

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, December 20, 2018 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018:

  • Gasoline prices will decrease by 2.0 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Furnace oil and stove oil prices will decrease by 2.0 cpl;
  • Diesel prices will decrease by 2.0 cpl; and
  • There will be no change in propane prices at this time.

Including adjustments for taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now range from 101.9 cpl to 103.0 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will now range from 124.3 cpl to 125.5 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will continue to range from 76.8 cpl to 78.7 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now be 87.4 cpl, plus tax.

Recent reductions in the wholesale pricing of refined products related to continued falling crude prices combined with above average inventory levels, now afford the unscheduled pricing adjustments announced today.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on January 1, 2019.
