PETROLEUM PRICING



Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, January 15, 2019 The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019:

  • There will be no change in the price of gasoline;
  • Furnace and stove oil prices will increase by 2.3 cents per litre (cpl);
  • Diesel prices will increase by 3.0 cpl; and
  • Propane prices will decrease by 0.6 cents per litre (cpl) for Superior Propane and by 0.9 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc. and there will be no change for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing.

Including adjustments for taxes pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will continue to range from 99.1 cpl to 100.3 cpl. Pump prices for diesel will now range from 124.0 cpl to 125.1 cpl. Maximum before tax propane prices will now range from 77.8 cpl to 78.4 cpl.

The maximum price for furnace oil will now amount to 90.9 cpl, plus tax.

A continued increase in the wholesale price of furnace oil and diesel has resulted in the price adjustments announced today. Similar increases have occurred in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia where diesel prices increased late last week by 5.2 cpl and 7.0 cpl respectively.

The Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on February 1, 2019.
