IN THE MATTER of an application by the P.E.I. Retail Gasoline Dealers Association for approval of an increase in the allowable retail gasoline margin.

Notice of Application

TAKE NOTICE that the P.E.I. Retail Gasoline Dealers Association has filed with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission an application for approval of an upward adjustment of 2.5 cents per litre in the minimum and maximum retail dealer markup levels for both self-serve and full-serve gasoline.

BACKGROUND

Under the Petroleum Products Act, the Commission has the authority to determine the minimum and maximum margin or markup between the wholesale price to the retailer and the retail price to the consumer. The currently allowed margin or markup is 4.0 to 5.5 cents per litre (cpl) for self-serve gasoline products and 5.0 to 7.5 cpl for full-serve gasoline products. The application proposes that these ranges be increased to 6.5 to 8.0 cpl for self-serve gasoline products and 7.5 to 10.0 cpl for full-serve gasoline products.

If you wish to comment on the application, you can write to the Commission at the address below. Comments must be received by Friday, October 19, 2007 in order to be considered. Comments provided to the Commission must also be forwarded to the Applicant at the address below.

The Commission will determine the necessity of a public hearing into this application following receipt of written comments.
