GRANVILLE ON THE WATER UTILITY INC. (the Utility) has applied to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the Commission) for approval to increase water rates, effective January 1, 2018.

FLAT RATE - The Utility is proposing to increase annual water rates for each lot having available service from $140.00 to $180.00.

FRONTAGE CHARGE - Rates are proposed to increase annually for each developed lot serviced, or capable of being serviced, from $140.00 to $180.00.

The rate for undeveloped lots with available water service will increase from $140.00 to $180.00. The total annual rate for developed lots with water service will increase from $280.00 to $360.00.

THE UTILITY'S RATE APPLICATION is available for review by clicking here. Questions on the filing should be addressed to the Utility.

The Commission's rate review process involves:

  • the Utility filing a rate application;

  • public notification of the proposed rate changes;

  • the Commission's review of the application through a paper review process or a public hearing; and

  • the issuance of an Order outlining the Commission's decision on the rates to be charged, which will be posted on the Commission's website at www.irac.pe.ca.

ANY PERSON WANTING TO COMMENT on the application can write or email the Commission at the address below. Written comments must be received on or before Friday, June 22, 2018.
