Sewer & Water Rates

Notice of Application

TAKE NOTICE that the KENSINGTON Water and Pollution Control Corporation (the "Utility") has applied to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") requesting sewer and water rate increases to be phased in over five years, starting January 1, 2021.

SPECIFICALLY, THE UTILITY PROPOSES the following yearly unmetered rates, per unit:

The Utility proposes the same percentage of increases in yearly metered sewer and water rates over the next five years as well. 

DETAILS OF THE RATE APPLICATION can be viewed on the Commission’s website at www.irac.pe.ca/utilities or by clicking here. The utility's current rate tariffs can be viewed here. Questions on the filing should be addressed to the Kensington Utility.

The Commission’s rate review process involves:

  • the Utility's filing of a rate application;

  • public notification of the Utility's proposed rate changes;

  • the Commission's review of the application, and any written comments from the public;

  • the issuance of an Order outlining the Commission's decision on the rates to be charged, which will be posted on the Commission's website at www.irac.pe.ca. 

IF YOU WANT TO SUBMIT WRITTEN COMMENTS on the application, you can write or email the Commission. Comments must be received no later than Friday, November 20, 2020.
