2015 Rate Filing File UW22309 Montague Sewer & Water Utility TAKE NOTICE that the Montague Sewage and Water Collection and Treatment Corporation Utility (the Utility) has filed an application with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the Commission) for approval to increase sewer rates over two years, effective July 1, 2015 and July 1, 2016. The Utility is not proposing any changes to water rates at this time. THE UTILITY IS REQUESTING the following changes for unmetered sewer customers, per single-family residence, per quarter:
The same percentage of increases
of approximately 22% in 2015 and 18% in 2016 on metered sewer rates is also
being proposed by the Utility. For example, based on the proposal, a 5/8" metered customer consuming 250 cubic metres per year would see their overall annual sewer rate go from $281 to approximately $343 in July 2015 and $404 in July 2016. In this example, the combined annual charges for both water and sewer services would go from $566 to roughly $627 in 2015 and $689 in 2016. A PUBLIC HEARING will not be held unless the Commission determines a hearing is necessary. If there is a public hearing, a Notice of Hearing will be published.
