Electricity Efficiency & Conservation Plan

TAKE NOTICE that the Prince Edward Island Energy Corporation (the "Corporation") has filed for the review of the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") a proposed three-year Electricity Efficiency and Conservation Plan ("EE&C Plan"). The Corporation has requested an Order from the Commission approving the EE&C Plan, pursuant to section 16.1 of the Electric Power Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. E-4. 


The Corporation has submitted the EE&C Plan for review by the Commission in accordance with section 16.1(2.1) of the Electric Power Act. 

The EE&C Plan consists of electricity energy efficiency and conservation programs to be delivered by efficiencyPEI. The primary objective of the EE&C Plan is to achieve a reduction in electricity usage from what would have occurred absent energy savings measures. The EE&C Plan is proposed for a three-year term, from 2018 through 2021.

Any person wishing to comment on the EE&C Plan or the application generally can do so by writing to the Commission at the address below. In order to be considered, comments must be received by the Commission by Friday, September 7, 2018. All comments received in relation to the application will be made available on the Commission’s website at 

A public hearing will not be held with respect to the application unless the Commission determines a hearing is necessary. If there is a public hearing, a Notice of Hearing will be published on the Commission website and in local newspapers. Otherwise, the Commission will finalize its review of the application in the form of a written Order. All Orders issued in this matter will be posted on the Commission’s website at
