Notice of Application by Maritime Electric
for Changes to General Rules and Regulations

Maritime Electric Company, Limited ("Maritime Electric" or "Company") has filed an application with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") for approval of changes to its General Rules and Regulations as is required under Section 13(1) of the Electric Power Act (the "Act"), being Docket No. UE22004.

DETAILS
Maritime Electric has filed a revised set of General Rules and Regulations proposing several changes. The Company submits the proposed changes are necessary because the General Rules and Regulations (1) do not adequately provide for certain circumstances and situations; (2) are subject to misinterpretation based on existing language; and (3) have changed due to improvements in technology or work methods.

The application does not affect the electricity rates that were approved by the Commission as of March 1, 2016 in Order UE16-04.

HOW TO COMMENT AND ASK QUESTIONS
Any person wishing to comment on the filing can do so by writing to the Commission at the address below. In order to be considered, comments must be received by 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017.

Persons wishing to pose questions to Maritime Electric on the filing may do so by sending their questions, in writing, to the Company on or before 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016. Questions posed to Maritime Electric must be answered, in writing, on or before 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017. Copies of both written questions and written answers must be copied to, or filed with, the Commission not later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, in order to be considered by the Commission.
