Montague & Georgetown SEWER RATES Notice of Applications TAKE NOTICE that the Montague Sewer and Water Collection and Treatment Corporation ("Montague Utility") and the Georgetown Sewage Collection and Treatment Corporation ("Georgetown Utility") have applied to the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") for approval to increase sewer rates. THE MONTAGUE UTILITY has requested increases in unmetered sewer rates of approximately 15% per year over two years. The proposed rates, per single dwelling, per quarter, are as follows:
The same percentage of increases of approximately 15% per year on metered sewer rates is also proposed. In addition, effective January 1, 2021, the Montague Utility proposes to remove the 10% surtax for customers outside the former Montague town boundary and will commence charging all customers who are capable of being serviced. THE GEORGETOWN UTILITY has requested an annual increase in sewer rates from $233.64 to $262.00 per unit; and in frontage rates from $1.47 to $1.65 per foot, effective September 1, 2020. In addition, effective, January 1, 2021, the Georgetown Utility is proposing to change its yearly billing cycle from tri-annually to quarterly.
