PROPANE PRICING ADJUSTMENTS – IRVING OIL LIMITED AND SUPERIOR PROPANE INC.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, 6 April 2000 — The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that approval has been granted to Superior Propane Inc. to decrease the price of propane to all classes of customers by 1.9 cents per litre. 

The Commission also announced that approval has been granted to Irving Oil Limited to increase the price of propane to all classes of customers by 5.7 cents per litre. 

The Commission noted that due to timing differences in the filing of propane pricing applications in the past, that the requested adjustments of both Applicants have been found to be just and reasonable at this time.  The Commission indicated, however, that it proposes to next review prices for both Companies after 15 May 2000. 

The pricing adjustments authorized become effective at 12:01 a.m. on 8 April 2000.
