Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, 18 May 2000 — The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that the applications for non-crude oil cost-related increases set out in its press release of 20 March 2000 have been dealt with by the Commission in its Decision and Order No. P.000515-0. These applications contained requests for upward revisions ranging as high as ten cents per litre. All six applicants were granted non-crude related increases of 1.2 cents per litre in all grades of gasoline contained in their dealer schedules. In addition, Ultramar Ltd., Irving Oil Limited, Shell Canada Products Limited and Co-Op Atlantic were also authorized to increase the prices of all grades of gasoline contained in both their dealer and posted consumer schedules by 0.6 cent per litre based on the requirement to reduce benzene in their gasoline products in accordance with recent changes in federal regulations. Similar increases had previously been granted to Imperial Oil Limited and Petro-Canada for this same reason. As Wilson Fuel Co. Limited is not currently operating in this jurisdiction, no changes were requested or authorized for this Company at this time. The Commission confirmed in its Decision that the interim increases of 1.0 cent per litre in the price of stove oil and the 2.0 cent per litre increase in the price of furnace fuel which have been in place since 17 February 2000 would now be included in the base price of these products. No further pricing adjustment requests were granted with regard to these or other products. All pricing adjustments become effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, 20 May 2000. —30— For
