NOTICE
DEADLINE FOR FILING NON-RESIDENT AND CORPORATE
LAND APPLICATIONS PURSUANT TO THE LANDS PROTECTION ACT
Please be advised
that the deadline for filing non-resident and corporate land applications pursuant to the Lands
Protection Act and the day on which the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission
will consider such applications will change, effective June 16, 1998.
The change in application
deadline and Commission meetings will decrease the length of time required by the
Commission for processing an application from a minimum of 11 days to a minimum of 9
days.
For the new schedule
format, the Commission will meet on Thursday, June 18, 1998. In order to have the
application dealt with by the Commission during this meeting, the deadline for filing
applications will be by noon on Tuesday, June 16, 1998. The Commission will then
submit its recommendation to Executive Council by noon of the following Thursday, June
25, 1998 for Council's consideration on the following Tuesday, June 30, 1998.
This process will continue and be repeated every two weeks.
Please be advised that the
above schedule may be affected from time to time due to statutory holidays or changes
which may occur in the schedules of the Commission and/or Executive Council which are
beyond the control of the Commission. The above schedule is also based on the premise that
when an application is filed with the Commission, the said application is complete.
