
NOTICE
TO PERSONS OR CORPORATIONS WHOSE AGGREGATE LAND
HOLDINGS ON PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND ON DECEMBER 31, 1994 WERE IN EXCESS OF THE LIMITS UNDER
THE P.E.I. LANDS PROTECTION ACT
DEADLINE FOR
FILING IS JULY 9, 1998
The amendments to the
P.E.I. Lands Protection Act proclaimed on June 9, 1998 enable a
person or corporation, whose aggregate land holding on December 31, 1994 was in excess of
the limit contained in the amended Act, to apply for a permit to have an aggregate land
holding in excess of the limits.
Pursuant to the provisions
of section 6.1(1) of the P.E.I. Lands Protection Act, where the
aggregate land holding of a person exceeded 1,000 acres or that of a corporation exceeded
3,000 acres on December 31, 1994, the person or corporation shall, by July 9, 1998, submit
a land holding disclosure statement in the form prescribed by the P.E.I. Lands
Protection Act Regulations and apply for a permit to hold the amount of land
in excess of the limits.
