Rental of Residential Property Act
R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. R-13.1

TAKE NOTICE that the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission has been commissioned by the Government of Prince Edward Island to conduct a review of the Rental of Residential Property Act. As part of this review, a discussion paper has been produced and posted on the Commission's website to obtain public commentary on possible changes to the Act.

This represents the second phase of the consultation. The first phase consisted of a series of interviews with lessors, lessees, property managers, community organizations, government housing authorities and the staff at the Office of the Director of Residential Property. These consultations were held in September of 2005 and form the basis of the discussion paper.

HOW TO VIEW THE DISCUSSION PAPER

The discussion paper can be obtained by clicking here. The discussion paper can also be obtained at the Commission's offices on the 5th floor of the National Bank Tower in the Confederation Court Mall in Charlottetown or by calling 368-7864 or 1-800-501-6268 (toll free).

HOW TO COMMENT

Anyone who wishes to comment on the discussion paper can do so by emailing rentalconsulation@irac.pe.ca or by sending written submissions on or before November 30, 2005 to:
