In accordance with the Rental of Residential Property Act,
the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission has determined that the allowable percentage
increase for residential rent during 1999 shall be one (1) percent.
Lessors who believe their special circumstances justify a rent increase above the
allowable percentage may apply to the Director of Residential Rental Property pursuant to
Section 23 of the Act.
Forms related to rent
increases above the allowable percentage and general information regarding the Rental
of Residential Property Act are available from the office of the Director or
at any of the Regional Services Centres.
