Municipal Boundary Extension Application

Town of Kensington
 

Pursuant to Subsection 12(1) of the Municipalities Act R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap M-13, the Town of Kensington has applied to the Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs to extend its municipal boundary to include an area of approximately 55 acres adjacent to the present Town boundary.  The area is outlined below:

The application states that the reasons for the expansion are:

The Town of Kensington has received a request from the owners of parcel 792580 to have their land incorporated within the boundaries of the Town.  The owners of the land are in the process of considering a significant housing development for the property.

PUBLIC HEARING

In accordance with Section 13 of the Municipalities Act, the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission has been directed by the Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs to conduct a public hearing in or near the area to be annexed for the purpose of reviewing the application.

The public hearing will be held in the Council Chambers of the Kensington Town Hall, 55 Victoria Street, commencing at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2004.  Residents of the Town, the area to be annexed and any person affected by the application are invited to attend and make representation concerning the application.
