Interim Decision and Order

WHEREAS further to the Commission's Interim Order No. P.921006, Counsel for Atlantic Speedy Propane Limited ("Atlantic"). filed on 11 January 1993 an application dated 8 January 1993 with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") requesting permission to increase the price of propane to its customers in the amount of 1.1 cents per litre;

AND WHEREAS a declaration made in the supporting Affidavit of Mr. Douglas Goddard, General Manager of Atlantic, dated 8 January 1993 indicated that propane acquisition costs have increased by a total of 1.1 cents per litre over the past few months, which Affidavit was supported by a copy of a letter to this effect dated 8 January 1993 from Andrew J. Edwards of Irving Oil Limited (Irving), its supplier;

AND WHEREAS the Commission considered this Application and supporting documentation this date; and granted approval to the requested increases;

AND WHEREAS the matter of the pricing for the category "Irving Oil Dispenser Operators" which was given earlier interim approval has not yet been finally determined; interim approval of the requested increase in rates is hereby granted with a final decision with respect to this category delayed until 1992 statistical data with respect to these operators is available and has been assessed;

THE COMMISSION HEREBY ORDERS THAT the propane prices to be charged by Atlantic Speedy Propane Limited, effective 12:01 a.m., Thursday, 14 January 1993, be increased by 1.1 cents per litre, in accordance with Appendix "A" to this Interim Order, until otherwise ordered by the Commission.

AND THE COMMISSION FURTHER ORDERS THAT a copy of each of the three invoices for the next delivery of propane to Atlantic by Irving following the dates of the various increases in acquisition costs since the last rate approval, being 12 November 1992, 4 December 1992 and 9 January 1993, as well as a copy of each of the current Policies No. 30, 52 and 53 relating to the above-noted rate schedule, be submitted to the Commission on or before 20 January 1993.
