Decision and Order
Pursuant to the Commission's Decision and Order No. P.940705-1, Ultramar Canada Inc. filed an application dated 15 August 1994 with the Commission requesting approval of crude oil cost related increases based on average crude oil costs for June/July 1994. In addition, Ultramar requested a partial offsetting decrease in its posted consumer prices. This second request was predicated on the outcome of its request for crude oil cost adjustments.
This application was referred to in a press release dated 16 August 1994 inviting public input by 31 August 1994 with regard to this and other applications concerning refined product prices of wholesalers operating in the Prince Edward Island market. No such input was received.
Some deficiencies in the original filing were referred back to the Applicant for correction, and the Commission was later provided with satisfactory documentation by Doris Beaulieu, Director of Corporate Planning.
The Commission gave consideration this date to the application of Ultramar Canada Inc., as well as the supplemental information provided, and to the Commission's monitoring of crude oil prices and those costs indicated by Ultramar Canada Inc. in its submissions.
The Applicant's calculations produced the same 1.4 cents per litre increase as is indicated by the Commission's monitoring. The Applicant notes, however, that although a 2.2 cents per litre increase was indicated in the last application, only a 1.9 cents per litre increase was sought, and it now seeks to recover the additional 0.3 cents per litre warranted in addition to the 1.4 cents per litre increase based on average crude oil costs for June/July 1994.
Following this consideration, the Commission agreed that it would be just and reasonable to increase all refined product prices contained in Ultramar's dealer and posted consumer pricing schedules by 1.7 cents per litre. The Applicant, however, seeks to reduce its posted consumer prices by 0.7 cents per litre due to market conditions, so only a 1.0 cent per litre increase would be applied with regard to these prices. An Order authorizing these requested adjustments, effective 12:01 a.m., 13 September 1994 is attached.
THE COMMISSION HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the following wholesale tank truck prices are to be charged dealers in Prince Edward Island supplied by Ultramar Canada Inc. effective 12:01 a.m. on 13 September 1994:

4. THAT the prices quoted in this Order, with adjustments resulting from tax changes only, shall remain in effect until otherwise ordered by the Commission.
