Decision and Order

Further to the Commission's Decision and Order No. P.950815, Superior Propane Inc. ("Superior") filed with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") on 22 December 1995 an application requesting permission to increase the price of propane to its customers.

A Declaration made by J. C. (Joe) Erskine, Market Manager of Superior, dated 21 December 1995 indicated that propane acquisition costs have increased by a total of 3.3 cents per litre since Superior's current prices were approved.

The above-noted Declaration was supported by a Schedule entitled "Sarnia-Amoco Wholesale Propane Posted Price", which Schedule indicated that propane acquisition costs had increased by 0.3 cent per litre effective 1 September 1995, had increased by 0.6 cent per litre effective 12 October 1995, had increased by 1.5 cents per litre effective 15 December 1995, and had increased by 0.9 cent per litre effective 22 December 1995, for a total increase of 3.3 cents per litre since 17 July 1995.

The Applicant submitted with its application Schedule "C" which indicated currently authorized prices as well as requested prices based on a 3.3 cent per litre increase with the exception of the auxiliary and pool heating categories, for which higher increases are requested based on higher costs of servicing.

The Commission considered this Application and supporting documentation this date, and approved the increases, effective 8 January 1996.

THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS that the propane prices to be charged by Superior Propane Inc., effective 12:01 a.m., Monday, 8 January 1996 be increased in accordance with Appendix "A" to this Order, and these prices shall remain in effect until otherwise ordered by the Commission.

AND THE COMMISSION FURTHER ORDERS that a copy of each of the invoices for the next delivery of propane to Superior following the effective dates of the increases in propane acquisition costs, as indicated previously, be submitted to the Commission on or before 25 January 1996.

DATED at CHARLOTTETOWN this 4th day of January, A.D., 1996.
