Decision and Order

Further to the Commission's Decision and Order No. P.960322-2, Superior Propane Inc. ("Superior") filed with the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (the "Commission") on 6 September 1996 an application requesting permission to increase the price of propane to its customers in the amount of 1.0 cent per litre.

A declaration made by J. C. (Joe) Erskine, Market Manager of Superior, dated 4 September 1996 indicated a producer wholesale price increase of 0.9 cent per litre and a rail freight increase between Sarnia and Moncton of 0.1 cent per litre, for a total increase in propane acquisition costs of 1.0 cent per litre since Superior’s prices were last approved.

The above-noted Declaration was supported by a Schedule entitled "Sarnia-Amoco Wholesale Propane Posted Price", which Schedule indicated that the producer wholesale price of propane has increased by 0.9 cent per litre effective 2 September 1996, and was also supported by a letter dated 27 October 1995 from CN indicating a rail freight increase of 0.1 cent per litre.

The Applicant submitted with its application Schedule B which indicated currently authorized prices as well as proposed prices;

The Commission considered this Application and supporting documentation this date, and approved the requested increases.

THE COMMISSION THEREFORE ORDERS that the propane prices to be charged by Superior Propane Inc., effective 12:01 a.m., Thursday, the 12th day of September 1996, be increased by 1.0 cent per litre, in accordance with Appendix "A" to this Order, and these prices shall appear on all invoices accompanying propane deliveries and shall remain in effect until otherwise ordered by the Commission.

AND THE COMMISSION FURTHER ORDERS that a copy of the invoices for the next delivery of propane to Superior following the effective date of the increase in propane acquisition costs, as indicated previously, be submitted to the Commission on or before 20 September 1996.

DATED at CHARLOTTETOWN this 10th day of SEPTEMBER, A.D., 1996.
