Designated License Classes – Outlets

ClassDescription
Consumer Outlet:Any building or place that is used for the sale of petroleum products from approved dispensing units directly into motor vehicles, self-propelled watercraft or portable containers, and any part of a building or place that is so used.
Retail-Distributor, 
Bulk Storage:
Any building or place that is used for the distribution of bulk petroleum products from bulk storage locations directly to consumers and consumer outlets.
Retail-Distributor,
No Bulk Storage:
Any building or place that is used for the distribution of bulk petroleum products directly to consumers and consumer outlets.
Tank Truck:Any vehicle used for the transportation and dispensing of petroleum products to the consumer.


Designated Methods of Dispensing – Outlets

MethodDescription
Full-Serve:The dispensing of petroleum products from dispensing units operated by trained pump island attendants, and not by a consumer.
Self-Serve:The dispensing of petroleum products from dispensing units operated by a consumer and supervised by a trained console operator.
Split-Serve:The dispensing of petroleum products from dispensing units operated by trained pump island attendants, and not by a consumer; and the dispensing of petroleum products from dispensing units operated by a consumer and supervised by a trained console operator.
Cardlock:An unattended consumer outlet equipped with a card-operated dispensing unit.
Keylock:An unattended consumer outlet equipped with a key-operated dispensing unit.
