NOTICE TO PETROLEUM CONSUMERS: The Commission would like to advise consumers that the Government of PEI has announced the temporary suspension of the provincial gas tax on all grades of gasoline and diesel fuels from September 26, 2026 until January 31, 2027. This will come into effect at 12:01 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Click here for more information.
STATEMENT FROM IRAC RE: REVIEW COMMISSION’S INTERIM REPORT: On September 18, 2026, the Review Commission conducting the review of IRAC, as directed by the Government of PEI, released its interim report and recommendations. Click here for a statement from IRAC.
NOTICE TO PETROLEUM CONSUMERS: The Government of Canada has announced that the temporary suspension of the Federal Excise Tax on fuel will be extended until January 31, 2027.
NOTICE TO MECL CUSTOMERS: Maritime Electric customers should be advised that the utility filed a compliance report related to its Hurricane Fiona application with updated customer rate impacts. IRAC issued Order UE26-07 approving the rate adjustment. Rate changes will take effect on August 1, 2026. Click here for more information.

NOTICE ABOUT WEEKLY PETROLEUM PRICING ADJUSTMENTS: Please note that the Commission has shifted to twice-weekly scheduled pricing adjustments for petroleum products. Pricing adjustments will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays each week, with prices coming into effect at 12:01AM. The twice-weekly scheduled pricing adjustments will be in effect until further notice.
